Biography

Jahirationz is a roots reggae band composed by the Zamorano brothers which begins its journey in the heart of the Caribbean on the island of Montserrat, where they were brought up. Born in Santiago Chile, their family moved to Montserrat after a military coup that took place in 1973, forcing thousands to leave Chile as political refugees. Migrating to the United States in 1981, they took an interest in music and began playing in the school's music courses and marching bands. By late 1986 they formed their first reggae band "Iration".

They presented themselves at the Annual School Talent Show held at Ramapo Regional in Franklin Lakes, NJ where they attended High School. They quickly began playing at local pubs and soon after, at college gigs. In 1991 they played their first major show at the 1991 Reggae Sunsplash in Greensboro North Carolina, along side reggae acts like JC lodge, Moja Nya and Awareness Art Ensemble. In April of 1992 they landed in Kingston Jamaica, sponsored by their manager Mr. Loran Hector where they recorded their first alongside Jamaican artists Ruffy & Tuffy. The single released was titled "The Day After" published on the Mission 101 label.

In 1992, they decided to visit their beloved homeland Chile and quickly established themselves as one of the leading reggae bands within the national music scene. They became the opening act for large festivals including the "Natural Mystique Festival" which showcased legendary groups like The Wailers, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs and Los Pericos with a large attendance of 80,000 people. They were then chosen to be the backing band for Kymani Marley's first vist to Chile along side acts like Lauryn Hill and Autenticos Decadentes, which had an attendance of around 50,000 people. They went on to back-up artist like Andrew Tosh and Junior Kelly among others and opened up for acts like Matisyahu.

Upon returning to the United States, they recorded and mixed their debut album entitled "In Exile" which was released in the year 2000 on their own independant label Zam Jam Records. They began touring the east coast and presenting themselves at festivals such as the 2008 First Annual Budweiser Summer Fest in Washington DC which included artists like Beres Hammond, Kymani Marley, I-Wayne and Etana amoung others. They then went on to work with producer Kemar "Flava" Mcgregor who released the single "Love Light" on the Reggae Platinum Compilation in 2012. They also recorded with reggae legend Eek-A-Mouse and released the single "Deportation" on their Zam Jam International label.

Soon after they received an offer to buy their bands name "Iration" and upon not selling, became involved in a legal dispute over the name. After years of dispute, expenses and ultimately being misrepresented by their hired law firm in Beverly Hills CA, they were unable to retain the name and so JahIrationz was born. Currently working as Jahirationz they joined forces with Jamaican Billboard Grammy nominated producer/composer Kemar ¨flava¨ McGregor to release their first single entitled ¨Love Light¨ which made the compilation LP Reggae Platinum Series along reggae greats such as  Marica Griffiths, Buju Banton, Luciano, Beres Hammond, Anthony B, Gyptian, Cas Haley, Sinead O´Connor and many more top artists within this genre.  Jahirationz has also recorded and released their first limited edition promotional single "Andes Roots Sound" as a 12" vinyl on the Zam Jam International label in 2014 and also teamed up with Jamaican singing sensation Yami Bolo a veteran singer in his own right to release the second official Jahirationz single entitled Love & Salvation  in early 2017.
